The Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s Office is dedicated to seeking justice for the victims of crimes as well as for the People of Vermilion County. The State’s Attorney’s Office is committed to providing victims and their families with support services including obtaining Orders of Protection, restitution requests, future court date notifications, and answers to questions about the criminal justice system to ensure that they are treated with fairness and compassion throughout the process.

How can I find out if the defendant is in custody?

The Automated Victim Notification System (AVN) automatically notifies registered citizens/victims by phone or e-mail of a defendant’s release or custody within 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
