Reportable Diseases

What is a Reportable Disease?

A reportable disease or also called a “communicable disease” is a disease that must be reported to federal, state, or local health officials when diagnosed. To see if you are a mandated reporter and how soon you must report certain infectious diseases, please go to the IDPH website on Disease Reporting.

Please Note: Bedbugs and Lice are not reportable diseases to the Health Department as they do not transmit communicable diseases. However, they certainly can be very annoying.  Please go to our Pest Webpage for more information.

Please Contact the Health and Wellness and Immunization Coordinator for more information.
