Pet Food Pantry
Our Pet Food Pantry is a community resource designed to support Vermilion County pet owners during times of need. Through donated food and supplies, we help families care for their pets and keep them safely at home.
The pantry is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and is accessible through the Animal Control Entrance (left door).
How It Works
Program Guidelines
To ensure we can continue serving as many families as possible:
- For repeat visits, pets in the household must be spayed or neutered, or a spay/neuter registration must be submitted with your request form
- We ask that all visitors treat staff, volunteers, and other community members with respect
How to Help Support Our Program
This program is made possible through the generosity of our community. Every donation helps keep pets in their homes and supports families during challenging times.
Donate Pet Food and Supplies:
- We welcome unopened bags or cans of dog and cat food, as well as new pet supplies such as treats, collars, leashes, and other items
- Donations can be dropped off at the shelter during regular business hours.
- We are especially in need of:
- Dry Cat Food
- Dry Puppy Food
- Clumping Cat Litter
Business Partners:
- If your business has overstock or pet products to donate, please contact Kate Suchodolski at ksuchodolski@vercounty.org.
Give Financially:
- Monetary donations allow us to purchase the items we need most, including bags and labels

Host a Donation Drive:
- Community groups, schools, and local businesses can help by organizing pet food and supply drives. This is a great way to directly support pets and families in Vermilion County!
Spread the Word:
- Sharing information about the Pet Food Pantry helps connect people to resources when they need them most!
