The Supervisor of Assessments office was created by
state law to provide statistical and performance data to the Illinois
Department of Revenue and to provide technical advice and information to
the township assessors and the Board of Review.
The Supervisor of Assessments office maintains the
property tax information. This includes all name and address information,
assessment values, exemptions, etc.
In addition, the Supervisor of Assessments acts as
an equalization authority, a statutory clerk of the Board of Review and
correlates the work of the township assessors. They are responsible for
publishing assessment change notices and mailing notices to the taxpayers. |
